The 2027 Volkswagen Atlas is a fully redesigned, second-generation three-row SUV. It brings bolder styling, a reworked cabin with real wood décor on every trim, and the most powerful engine ever fitted to an Atlas. What Every 2027 Atlas Includes

Every Atlas uses the new turbocharged 2.0 L 4-cylinder EA888 evo5 engine, rated at 282 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. That is 13 hp more than the previous Atlas, and estimated fuel consumption improves to 10.0 L/100 km combined (11.4 city and 8.4 highway). An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels through 4MOTION all-wheel drive, and four driving modes (Comfort, Sport, Eco and Custom) let you adjust how the SUV responds.

Safety is generous from the first trim. Seven airbags come standard, including a new front centre airbag between the driver and front passenger. The IQ.DRIVE suite is also standard, with Travel Assist for hands-on semi-automated driving from 0 to 150 km/h, now with driver-initiated lane changes. Emergency Assist Plus, Active Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert, Exit Warning, Light Assist and front and rear Park Distance Control round out the list.

Family-friendly touches carry through every trim, too. You get a power tailgate with Easy Open and Easy Close, second-row sunshades, three-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel with shift paddles, remote start and dual Qi2 wireless charging with MagSafe. Seven USB-C ports keep devices topped up in every row. The 60/40 second-row bench slides 196 mm, reclines 14 degrees and tilts forward for third-row access, even with child seats installed.

Every Atlas also comes with a 4-year/80,000 km new vehicle limited warranty, a 5-year/100,000 km powertrain warranty and 3 years/45,000 km of scheduled maintenance.

Comfortline: A Well-Equipped Starting Point

The Comfortline gives you the full Atlas foundation with plenty of comfort for daily family driving. Heated and ventilated front seats and a 12-way power driver seat with 4-way power lumbar support keep long drives comfortable, and new B-pillar air vents help move air to the second row. A 12.9-inch touchscreen sits beside the 10.25-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro, and the new Driver Experience Dial controls volume, drive modes and the Atmospheres lighting and audio settings.

Highline: The Biggest Step Up in Comfort and Tech

The Highline adds the most equipment of any step in the lineup. The infotainment screen grows to 15 inches with built-in navigation, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Audio System replaces the standard sound system. A Head-Up Display, Area View 360° camera and Dynamic Road Sign Display give you more information while you drive and park.

Comfort improves in both of the first two rows. The Highline brings Varenna leather seating surfaces, heated front and outer rear seats, and ventilation for the front and outer second-row seats. It is also the only trim offered in all eight exterior colours.

Inside, Nappa leather seats with microfibre inlays add a unique pattern, and both front seats include a massage function. Dark coffee wood décor, a black headliner and a heated leather steering wheel finish the cabin. Park Assist joins the parking sensors to help steer the Atlas into tight spots.
